The Abbeycroft Leisure Marathon

The Abbeycroft Leisure Marathon will take place at 9am on Sunday 29 October at Skyliner Sports Centre, Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds.

The route will send runners north and then west on Mount Road, before heading south on a footpath through Moreton Hall and passing beneath the A14. At the end of the footpath will be your first (and fifth) water station where you will turn right, and then take a right to head away from the the village of Rushbrooke. Note there will be a diverge point here where the half marathon runners will turn left. After heading down this road you will turn left onto a footpath, which will bring you out in Rushbrooke. You will take a right in the village to head south and then a left to go east into Bradfield St George, where you will pass your second (and sixth) water station. After a right turn a couple of lefts will take you north and then west into Rougham and your third (and seventh) water station.  A couple more lefts will take you west into Blackthorpe. After reaching the village you will turn left, heading under the A14 as your travel north into Battlies Green. You take a left onto a footpath running beside the road and pass your fourth (and eighth) water station as your return west to Moreton Hall. You will cross the roundabout and return back down the footpath to complete your second lap. Upon returning the the roundabout for a second time, you will turn left to head back to the Skyiner Sports Centre to finish.

Entrants must be at least 18 years old on race day. We will be applying for a UK Athletics race licence and our courses will be officially measured. There will be medals and goodies for all finishers, and the race will be chip timed.

We will not be enforcing a strict cut off, and while some marshals may need to leave mid afternoon we will ensure all remaining water stations and the finish line are fully marshalled until the last of you has crossed the line.
